The game was released by Konami in 2003. It is the third installment in the Castlevania series on the Game Boy Advance. This game is designed with the camera viewed from the side. The story

The game is set in the year 2035, when Soma Cruz is visiting Japan as a transfer student. He lives near the Hakuba shrine. During the night of a solar eclipse, he and Mina, a childhood friend, visit Hakuba Shrine. Suddenly, he and Mina were both sucked into the solar eclipse and fell into Dracula’s castle. Here, Soma’s power awakens by absorbing monster souls. After that, he began to explore the castle and found out many secrets behind it.

Gameplay

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow belongs to the role-playing adventure genre. You will transform into Soma guy exploring Dracula castle. During the adventure, you can pick up many new weapons. Battle enemies in the castle to gain experience and level up. As you level up, your base stats will also increase, and you’ll become stronger to fight more powerful enemies. The control is also quite simple, you use the move button to dodge attacks and attack enemies.

Items

You can change from weapons to character’s costumes to become stronger. Equipment can be picked up around the castle, you can replace it with your current one in the equip interface.

Soul

In this part, you have an additional soul system to increase strength. Each enemy dead will give you a soul, every time you kill enough 110 enemies, you will get a skill, depending on the your luck. Souls are divided into 4 types:

• Bullet Souls: they give you an extra weapon like fireball or whatever. To use it just press Up + B key combination.
• Guardian Souls: This skill will increase your defense, to activate it, you press R.
• Enchanted Souls: This skill will help you to move on water and increase your strength.
• Ability Souls: when you get this skill you will be able to jump twice and slide like in Metroid title.

Modes

After completing the game, you will open 3 more free modes:

• Julius: this mode allows you to experience the game as the character Julius.
• Nouse: play the game with limited items.
• Nosoul: play the game with soul limit.

Graphics

This game has pretty good graphics. The characters of the game are uniquely designed and do not overlap with any other game. The meticulously cared for scene clearly shows the gloom of Dracula Castle. This image is too great for a game on Game Boy Advance.
